EMDR Training Curriculum Part 1 – Three Consecutive Days, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
In this comprehensive 3-part course, you’ll delve into the world of EMDR therapy, with each part spanning 3 consecutive days from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Part 1 covers an array of fundamental and crucial topics such as the theoretical background of EMDR, client selection, the 8 Phases of the Standard EMDR Model, and specific protocols for working with a wide range of topics including child sexual abuse, grief, and therapist self-care. Furthermore, you’ll learn how to adequately prepare clients and provide them with safe techniques to manage extreme emotions before commencing EMDR treatment. Additionally, you’ll gain insights into Resource Development and Resource Installation with vulnerable clients, as well as view a video demonstration of EMDR. Hands-on practice is a key component of this training, with supervised, small-group practicum. You’ll work directly with experienced EMDR Consultants, Facilitators, and Trainers who will provide real-time guidance and feedback, helping you build confidence in advanced EMDR strategies.

8 Phases of the Standard EMDR Model :
– Learning the eight phases of treatment including the basic protocol of EMDR by covering the topics below:
– Identifying treatable parameters with EMDR
– Learning to take a specialized history to identify negative self-beliefs
– Case conceptualization
– Selection criteria and cautions for safe use of EMDR
– How to prepare the client for an EMDR session
– Stabilization skills
– Resource Development and Resource Installation with vulnerable clients
– Ensuring clients are properly prepared and equipped with safe strategies to handle intense emotions before beginning EMDR therapy
– How to choose a target memory for EMDR
– How to assess the target memory
– Conducting the desensitization phase with bilateral stimulation
– Managing blocked processing
– Installing a positive self-belief about the target memory
– Doing a body scan to process the somatic records of trauma
– How to make a closure in an EMDR session
– Extra strategies for incomplete sessions
– How to start the following EMDR sessions
Additional considerations covered:

Part 2 Training – One Day from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm
Part 2, an intensive 1-day training from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, will offer a comprehensive revision of the Standard 8 Phases of EMDR Therapy. Moreover, you’ll have the opportunity to address any difficulties in your practice of EMDR through insightful reviews and supervision.
Course objectives:
– Review of the Standard 8 Phases of EMDR Therapy
– Supervision of EMDR practice where the participants’ questions are answered by highly qualified and experienced EMDR Consultants, Facilitator and Trainer. This supportive environment encourages collaboration and enhances your ability to integrate EMDR therapy into your work.
EMDR Training Curriculum Part 3 – Three Consecutive Days, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
An immersive three-day EMDR training designed to elevate your practice to the next level. This advanced curriculum begins with a thorough review of the EMDR Basic Protocol, followed by in-depth case consultations and supervision to solidify your foundation. You’ll learn a more dynamic and effective form of EMDR, essential for applying it in challenging and complex cases.
Hands-on practice is a key component of this training, with six hours of supervised, small-group practicum. You’ll work directly with experienced EMDR Consultants, Facilitators, and Trainers who will provide real-time guidance and feedback, helping you build confidence in advanced EMDR strategies.
Course objectives:
– Review of the EMDR Basic Protocol
– Case Consultation/Supervision
– Acquire a more dynamic form of EMDR that is crucial for its full and effective use
– Master working with advanced strategies for blocked processing and abreactions
– Learn to apply EMDR to a wide variety of clinical challenges, including those with more complex and difficult presentations.
– Learn strategies for managing clients who are resistant
– Gain the ability to tailor EMDR sessions to meet the specific needs of each client.
Learn how to apply and adapt EMDR to treat:
- Survivors of childhood sexual abuse
- Dissociative disorders
- Flashforward Protocol
- Phobia Protocol
- Illness and Somatic disorders (including migraine and fibromyalgia protocol)
- Recent Traumatic Event Protocols: EMDR Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) & Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP)
- Cross-culturally with/without interpreters
– Practicum for six hours of hands-on, supervised practice with immediate support from highly experienced and qualified EMDR Consultants, Facilitators, or Trainers.
